USES OF POTATO



Ayurveda uses potato in various diseases. Potato is a good source of vitamins minerals and starch. It should be eaten without frying or treating it with oils as it absorbs a lot of oil. It should not be peeled. Its juice is extremely useful in arthritis, gout and other diseases of the bones. It helps to cure chronic ulcers. It is a good source of all important minerals and vitamin C. It has very good effect on the skin also and can be used externally also.

PEEPUL FOR YOUR TEETH




People are aware of usefulness of Neem twigs for curing dental diseases and gum ailments but very few are aware that peepal (ficus tree) twigs are equally efficacious. If you have any dental problem or swelling/pain in gums, take 2-3 peepal twigs (green) and chew them (don't worry, these are not bitter) for 5-10 minutes. Do not swallow at once. Keep this saliva mixed paste in your mouth for sometime and then swallow it. It is not distasteful and even children can eat it.

TOMATO FOR BOILS


Tomato is very useful for boils on tongue or inside cheeks. It should be eaten raw. Boils often result from constipation and tomatoes cure constipation also. Include at least two raw tomatoes in your daily diet.

BANANA & HYPERTENSION

REDUCE CHOLESTEROL BY FOODS

This article suggests some easy methods of controlling and lowering cholesterol levels in blood by means of dietary controls only.



Cholesterol is a fatty substance which is essential ingredient of the body used in various metabolic activities of the body. However, when it exceeds the normal limits (150-200mg/100ml blood), it poses serious threat to arteries and heart. It can be successfully regulated and treated by means of slight changes in our diet.
GARLIC is an excellent substance to add in your diet to contain the cholesterol level. When you have increased levels of cholesterol, take as much garlic as possible in your diet. It will certainly reduce cholesterol level without causing any side effects. Although it is best to take it in raw form, it is equally efficacious in other forms like pickles.
CORIANDER is another excellent item to add in your food. Use it in raw form. It acts as a natural diuretic also. Its leaves or seeds both can be used in raw form.
SUNFLOWER SEEDS are very efficacious in reducing cholesterol levels. These can be taken in powder form also. Linoleic acid present in sunflower seeds reduces the plaque formation on arterial walls by cholesterol.
All foods that provide ANTI-OXIDANTS are very useful in treating enhanced levels of cholesterol. These include beetroots, carrots, tomatoes, peppers, melon seeds, papaya etc.
FIBRE rich food is best to check cholesterol such as whole grains, oat meal, fruits etc.
Always use VEGETABLE OILS in your food such as olive oil, sunflower oil, Soya, corn etc. Raw vegetables are always a better source of fibres and antioxidant than cooked ones.
Finally, include as much exercises and workouts as possible according to your physical condition. Physical activity increases the body’s flexibility including that of arteries. And of course, follow your doctor's advice too.
